
Moses John Ssebugwawo
Moses is one of the founders of ABS Consulting Group Limited.
Prior to founding ABS Consulting, Moses was a Director and regional leader of the Forensic Investigation Division at Ernst & Young.
As a regional Leader, he was responsible for service delivery to clients in Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda Burundi and Tanzania.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University, Moses began his career with Ernst & Young in the Ugandan office. He also worked in various other international Ernst & Young offices and held a series of leadership positions throughout Ernst & Young. In 2002, he was posted to Australia for a period of five years and worked in both the Sydney and Adelaide Ernst & Young offices serving clients in the Telecommunication and Technology Sector of Australia.
Prior to his return to Uganda in 2017, Moses also worked as a corporate Internal Audit Manager with Woolworths Limited. Woolworths is the largest Australian retail company employing over 170,000 people. It operates more than 1,600 supermarkets in Australia plus additional supermarkets in New Zealand, India and Hong Kong. Moses managed big teams on various corporate reviews analysing business processes and providing value add services to the business. He was also involved in corporate reviews in supply chain management, Human resource management, property management, procurement and other special projects within the Woolworths portfolio.
Moses currently serves as an advisor to the Board Audit Committee of Centenary Rural Development Bank. In this role, he assists the Bank’s Board through its Board Audit Committee to effectively execute its mandate as contained in the Audit Committee Charter.
Moses has also facilitated corporate governance trainings to various Board members and audit committees aimed at providing the knowledge and skills needed by the Board of Directors to improve the efficiency of their institutions and to enhance the Board’s role of oversight and governance.
As part of the Corporate governance offering at ABS Consulting, Moses has also facilitated board performance evaluations for many Boards in Uganda. The Board Performance evaluation process is designed to provide Directors with an opportunity, each year to examine how the Board is operating and to make suggestions for improvement.
Moses was on the Board of the Migrant Resource Centre of South Australia, an independent, charitable, community based organisation responsible for the settlement of new arrivals from refugee backgrounds in South Australia. He was also Board Member of the African Communities Council of South Australia, an organization that provides on-arrival settlement services to African people across South Australia.
Moses is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (CPAU) and a member of CPA Australia’s Continuing Professional Development Facilitators (CPA).
